Diabetes is one of the most serious diseases that are prevalent worldwide. Although there is what we call juvenile diabetes, there is also a that is a primary red-alert of aging. Age-related is commonly called as type 2 diabetes. Aside from aging, this type of may be the result of bad lifestyle. may be a serious condition but it can be easily managed.

So you've recently discovered that you have diabetes. What's the first thing to do? The first step is to consult your doctor. Your doctor knows a lot of things that you don't. Do not be afraid or hesitant to ask your doctor regarding your status.


The next thing you need to seriously consider is change. Having to live with may not be easy but it can be done. You need to change a lot of things and so you have to be prepared for this. One of the many things that you need to consider changing is your diet. You have to say goodbye to food containing high glucose and fats. Try to eat a balanced diet. Increase your intake of high-fiber, raw foods.

Diabetics have to live an active lifestyle. How do you do this? Simple. Exercise. Diabetics have a lot of sugar in their blood because there is either a defect in their pancreatic cells, which are responsible for the production of insulin, or their body's

tissues are resistant to the action of insulin. The result is an increase in the body's blood sugar level. Exercise increases your body's metabolism so excess sugar can be utilized and transported to other part of your body.

Having someone to exercise and diet with you is really helpful. Encourage your spouse to eat and exercise together with you. If you know someone who also has diabetes, whether that is juvenile or type 2 diabetes, you can talk him to accompany you whenever you go out for a jog. Not only will your social skills be enhanced, but your health as well.

You have to monitor your blood sugar level regularly. A glucometer will show you how high your blood glucose level has become. Blood sugar level is usually monitored before meals and before going to bed. Regular complete laboratory work-up for your is also important. A highly reliable test is the HbA1C test. This indicates how well your is controlled for the past three months.

Change is really tough to do, everybody knows that. Just think of a change in diet as a step in losing weight. If you are a little overweight, then this is a good time for you to lose weight. Not only will you be losing weight and controlling your status, but you will soon notice that you are living a full and healthy life.
